I absolutely love Christmas ornament wreaths, and really wanted one for above my fireplace this year. However, I did not want to spend this much...
Which meant that I was going to need to make it myself! This project took less than an hour and was easier than I thought it would be.
Supplies needed:
- Foam wreath form
- Lots of ornaments (I used 35 large, 24 medium & 90 small ornaments from Dollar Tree)
- Hot glue gun
- Ribbon
I ended up having to get 4 more tubes of the smallest ornaments to fill in the gaps! |
Start by taking the hook holders off the ornaments (the ones from Dollar Tree just popped right off!).
Next, put hot glue on the ornament (right where you pulled the hook holders off) and push it into your foam wreath form. Continue doing this around the front of the wreath.
Then, do the same thing around the outside and inside edges of the wreath form.
Fill in all remaining gaps with the rest of your ornaments! The ornaments will not be able to push into the foam anymore as you continue layering them, so just begin gluing the them to the surrounding ornaments when this happens.
Finally, add the ribbon and it is ready to hang! This was such an easy and inexpensive project, costing under $20. I love the result!
